Trinity Chapel recently concluded a 3-year capital campaign that began our much-needed efforts to upgrade and renovate our 40-year-old chapel into a state-of–the-art children’s center and relocate and expand our nursery facilities. With the Lord’s guidance, we were able to complete this remodel under budget and ahead of schedule, opening this multi-purpose facility for use in November 2009 and officially dedicating the space on January 31, 2010. Since that time, over 300 children have participated in ministries in the new TC Kids Center and our congregation has hosted events ranging from fantasy football parties to district-wide conferences. It has been exciting to utilize the blessings that God has afforded us.
Many in the Trinity Chapel family made financial pledges toward this undertaking, helping us to complete this project while maintaining the quality of ministries already underway; however, due to tough economic times, our pledges exceeded our receipts and we fell short of fully funding the completed work and adding the finishing elements. We need to recoup these expenses, follow through with the concluding details and move forward with the addition of an elevator to a newly-remodeled courtyard/entry area. To do this, our church leadership has decided to launch the second phase of the RELEVANT Campaign known as 29:14.
29:14 refers to the chapter and verse of 1 Chronicles that encompasses the Biblical model for giving: “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” Our goal is to enlist 75 individuals, families, or combined groups of people who will commit to giving an average of $29.14 a week over the next year, June 2011 – June 2012. These gifts are intended to take the place of previous RELEVANT pledges, if not completed, and to serve as a new partnership for those who either fulfilled previous RELEVANT commitments or are recent additions to our congregation and want to join us in this endeavor. Church leadership supports starting fresh and progressing together as we follow God’s direction for Trinity Chapel.
