Blog — April 27

Today I chose Psalm 103 to focus on. With all the bad and frightening news we have, this Psalm is a reminder that God ‘has our back.’

103:11-14 states, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion on His children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.”

We must keep this thought with us: God is our Father. He didn’t just redeem us from the slave holder Satan; He didn’t just cleanse us from all our sin. God became our Father. We need to think of Him in that way—our Father.

His love for us is so great. Sometimes I think we forget how much he loves us. We know God is love and that he loves us. But he truly loves us better than we can comprehend. He wants the best for us. He is so faithful to us. It is overwhelming the love of the Father.

“For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms 100:5

So shout for Joy that we have such an awesome redeemer! Worship Him with gladness! Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise!

Very encouraging Mom! Great scripture for today. David brings in Mephibosheth to honor Johnathon. Who are we, crippled by our sin and limited by our own selfish desires, that God brings us to eat at his table? He separates us from our sins and removes our old hearts and we are made anew.

Thank you Rachel. One of Paul’s prayers was that we would learn and understand the depth of the Love the father has for us!

Philip, good application of Mephibosheth. He made us to SIT with Him in heavenly places and enjoy all that God has done for us.

Question. How do you feel the image of your earthly father has affected the image and relationship with your heavenly Father?
