Give Thanks Always
Thanksgiving: the one day a year we all agree that stretchy pants are a blessing from God. But while you're deciding between a third slice of pie or a second nap, don’t forget 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
It’s easy to give thanks for mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, but Paul says all circumstances. That means thanking God when your cousin brings “that” casserole no one touches or when the turkey ends up drier than a sermon gone too long. Gratitude isn’t about perfection—it’s about perspective.
So, as you sit around the table today, give thanks for God’s blessings: family, friends, the invention of gravy, and His unchanging love (which, unlike the stuffing, never runs out).
Happy Thanksgiving! Now, pass the rolls and tell us—what’s one thing you’re thankful for today?
